This map series follows the traditional, majority historic view placing the crucifixion of Jesus on Preparation Day, Friday (Nisan 14), with the resurrection occurring on the third day, Sunday morning (Nisan 16).
Some scholars and traditions propose an alternative Wednesday or Thursday crucifixion. These views count a literal seventy-two hours ("three days and three nights" from Matthew 12:40) and identify two separate Sabbaths during that week: a special "High Day" feast Sabbath (John 19:31) followed by the regular weekly Saturday Sabbath. While noting these differing perspectives, our devotional map pins align with the ancient and mainstream Friday-Sunday framework held across the broader church.
